In May of 2000 Frank Phillips College started to make a move in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference. Since that time the Plainsmen Baseball Team has continued to improve on the field while maintaining academic excellence. In 2002 the team received the NJCAA top academic award “Academic Team of the Year” with a team GPA of 3.30.

Coach Simmons’ program has consistently sought to bring in players that will not only excel on the baseball field but in the classroom as well. Graduating the student athletes has and always will be a top priority of the baseball program here at FPC.
