It’s a Whole New Ball Game

Countdown to First Home Game

The FPC Softball Program is headed in the right direction under the guidance of new Head Coach Jenneffer Kohler. Coach Kohler brings a wealth of experience to the program. She was a member of the Red Raider Softball Team at Texas Tech. She was such a strong contributor to the program she was retained as a graduate assistant on the softball staff and eventually promoted to Assistant Coach.

Competing and coaching in the Big 12 Conference has equipped Coach Kohler with the ability to identify the talent it takes to play at a high level in the collegiate softball world. Her tremendous work ethic and dedication to her players will help in elevating the FPC program to compete in the elite Western Junior College Athletic Conference.

The 2008-09 team will return 3 sophomores Natasha Trujillo, Kenzi Nickell, and Alyssa Record. The trio will provide leadership to a talented, but youthful squad. Freshman commitments thus far include: Lizzy Cervantes, Lana Santiago, Tori Grant , Shannon McClenahan, and Kate Johnson.

Field renovations are being planned for a new sound system and other additions to the field in preparation for the upcoming season. Coach Kohler's players will receive plenty of recognition and publicity with signs in the outfield in the shape of softballs with the players’ names and numbers on each sign. She has many new and creative ideas to promote FPC softball locally and nationally.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the FPC Softball Program please contact Coach Jenneffer Kohler at jkohler@fpctx.edu or by phone at 806-457-4200 #730.
