Coach Mario Eramo is entering his third season as Head Coach of the Plainsmen. This year, he brought in Assistant Coach David Diaz and retained Assistant Coach Jake Welch from last year. Coach Eramo and his staff are looking forward to the upcoming season as ten players are returning from last year's team with the addition of 24 freshmen.
Frank Phillips College competes in one of the most competitive junior college regions in the country with six national championship titles coming from within the league during the past 13 years. Within the past 12 years, 14 Plainsmen were selected for the Major League Baseball First-Year Players’ Draft. Having a tradition of recruiting and developing good players, Frank Phillips College baseball is looking forward to success in the upcoming season.
The Plainsmen baseball program consistently strives to upgrade facilities and has recently outfitted the locker room with wireless Internet and satellite TV. The locker room is located right next to the indoor hitting and training facility. The team also has daily access to an Olympic-size pool and a 2,500 square-foot weight room in the state-of-the-art Borger Community Activity Center located on the north end of the Frank Phillips College campus.
Frank Phillips College is centrally located in the Texas Panhandle in the city of Borger, and offers some of the best baseball weather in the country. The college offers a great student-to-teacher ratio and takes pride in preparing students to be successful in their trades and university studies.
