FPC Woman's Basketball Team

The Frank Phillips College women’s basketball team is coming off its best season in 10 years, finishing with a 21-10 record and a third place finish in the WTJCAC. The ’06-’07 Lady Plainsmen completed the third straight season of winning basketball under head coach Michael Wells. Led by First Team All-Region selection Grace Williams (Robert Morris University), FPC made it to the Regional Quarterfinals before being eliminated. Joining Grace with post season honors was Sophomore Nasim Ahmadzadeh (Fairleigh Dickinson University), redshirt Freshman Katrina Rogers and true Freshman Katiya Jackson all earning Honorable Mention All-Conference.

The ’07-’08 Lady Plainsmen are poised to continue the success that the program has experience over the past three years. Along with Rogers and Jackson, FPC returns Stasia Holden, Jazmine Smith and redshirt Nicole Midder. The experience that these sophomores will bring to the court will be invaluable in the pursuit of the WTJCAC title. Added to this year’s squad are several talented freshmen such as Shervon Garner (Kannapolis, NC), Julia Pantsuikh (Minsk, Belarus), and Rakena Williams (Pontiac, MI).

In addition to the success the Lady Plainsmen experienced on the court in 2006-07, they also excelled in the classroom with a team GPA of 3.16. Chrisy Martin, Tammie Baker, Nasim Ahmadzadeh, Samara Hervey, Katiya Jackson, Grace Williams, and Stasia Holden were all named All-American Scholar Athletes.
