Part-Time Position
Full Time

Livestock Judging Coach/Agriculture Instructor-Borger Campus

Frank Phillips College is searching for a qualified individual who can teach, coach and recruit students at the Community College level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required: Master's preferred.
  • Experience in competitive livestock judging and/or evaluation; successful coaching experience preferred.
  • Preferred successful teaching experience at either High School or College level.
  • Preferred knowledge/experience with Agriculture in the Texas Panhandle Region.
  • Physical ability to handle and sort livestock.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching responsibilities include 6 credit hours per semester within the Agriculture Department as well as coaching Livestock Judging and Livestock Evaluation.
  • Training and traveling with a competitive livestock judging team to local, state, and national competitions.
  • Additional responsibilities generally associated with full-time faculty, including committee assignments, will be expected.

Livestock Facility Manager

Frank Phillips College is searching for a qualified individual who can manage the day-to-day operations of a new livestock reproduction center which will be engaged in artificial insemintation, semen collection and processing, and embryo transfer in cattle and horses. The individual will also teach both extended education courses as well as departmental courses as their training provides.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science or closely-related field is acceptable: Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience with livestock management is required.
  • Artificial Insemination certified is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching experience prefered.
  • Ability to work within an established Agriculture team environment.
  • Creativity and responsibility are musts.

Frank Phillips College is in constant search of qualified instructors for all credit and non-credit curriculum offerings.� Employment will be determined by instructor qualifications and student demand. Summer, fall, or spring evenings or weekend opportunities available. Retirees encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Specific areas most needed that require a Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours in the teaching field: Biology, Communications, Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geology, Government, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Spanish.
