Academic Probation

 

Placement

 

In keeping with FPC graduation guidelines, all students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0Failure to do so will cause the student to be placed on academic probation through the next regular fall or spring semester.

 

Conditions

 

         The student must meet with the Coordinator of Student Experiences in the Office of Educational Services.

         Failure to contact the Coordinator of Student Experiences will cause the student to remain on academic probation the following semester, regardless of GPA.

         Failure to contact the Coordinator of Student Experiences the 2nd semester will cause the student to be placed on academic suspension, regardless of GPA.

Important Information Regarding Academic Probation

 

         A student that is on academic probation may continue in succeeding semesters providing at least a 2.0 term GPA is achieved.

 

         A student placed on academic probation may not enroll in more than 16 hours unless special permission is given.

 

         A student receiving Veteranís Administration education benefits who is placed on academic probation will be reported to the VA as making unsatisfactory progress according to the criteria disclosed in the Student Financial Services section of the Catalog.

 

Return to Good Standing

 

Students will be removed from academic probation when they have raised their cumulative GPA to 2.0 or above and meet the conditions of probation.
