Frank Phillips College is committed to providing all students, faculty, and staff with every opportunity to make their dreams become reality. Dream… Believe… Achieve... Teaching with Technology With the changing student population, it is more important than ever to incorporate technology in the classroom. Learning is improved. Students are able to process information better through various avenues of learning channels. Faculty / Staff Development Enhancement of faculty and staff training was an aspect of the Title III grant. Through collaboration, faculty and staff increase their knowledge base and collaborate with other professionals to enhance student learning and retention in the classroom. STARS, FYIS 0101, ACCUTRACK, and faculty brown bags represent a few of these initiatives. STARS Program STARS (Student Tracking, Assistance and Response System) was developed by the Title III grant. To enhance student persistence, this program constitutes ACCUTRACK (Student data information system), student assessments (ACCUPLACER, Individual Learning Plans, ILPs, and College Student Inventories, CSIs), First Year Institute (FYIS 0101), advising (degree and career planning), and the early alert system. This plan had been developed to intervene and retain at-risk students. Accutrack software was purchased to determine student contact with campus offices and level of retention of those students. This program will also provide student surveys, which will determine the level of student satisfaction in these campus offices.
